New in Volunteer Roles

The following volunteering opportunities were added to the CVS Simply Connect platform during April 2024.

Bright Emotions

Finance Manager

Key responsibilities include preparing monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Garden Maintenance

We are looking for someone who enjoys the outdoors and is willing to help maintain our small space.

 

The Lewis Foundation

Shop Assistant Volunteer

Our outlet helps us to raise the income we need to provide our free gift packs and support to adults diagnosed with cancer in hospital. By volunteering with us, you are making a real difference to the lives of others.

 

The Walk to Freedom Foundation

Youth Mentor

You will provide support, advice and guidance on a regular basis, signpost to professional services and work on long term goals and short term positive outcomes for young people with a wide range of challenging needs.

 

Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre

Tea Room Volunteer Assistant

Be a welcoming face to customers, take orders, clear tables.

 

The Greensand Trust

Practical and Conservation Volunteer

Tasks vary throughout the year ranging from meadow cutting and raking through to coppicing, path work and vegetation clearance along with various construction projects, fencing, path creation and a range of other tasks.

Visitor Information Volunteer

This volunteer role contributes to promoting the positive work of the Greensand Trust and its partners in the local area.

Warden Volunteer

To create a better nature reserve for people and wildlife by assisting Rangers to patrol and maintain Greensand Trust Sites.

 

Spectrum Community Arts

Volunteer Workshop Assistant

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable people to join our team as Volunteer Workshop Assistants, to support one or multiple weekly clubs.

 

Living It Up

Event Supporter

To provide support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and other disabilities at bi monthly nightclub and gig style events held at various locations around Bedford.

Trustee - Treasurer

Duties and tasks to fulfil the key responsibilities (in partnership with executive officers and appropriate committees) ensure that the charity operates within the financial guidelines set out in current legislation, by the charity commission, in the charity’s constitution and by the board.

Gig Buddy

Stay Up Late started a project called Gig Buddies, we host the Bedford project of this, which matches up volunteers to people with a learning disability and/or autism to go to gigs and other events together in Bedford.

Gr8 Mates Support Volunteer

GR8 Mates is a service that supports adults with learning disabilities and /or autism to socialise, make friends and/or romantic relationships.

 

Bedford Ladies and Girls Football Club

Football Coach - Youth Teams 

We are looking for coaches to take new teams, and coaches to assist existing teams.

 

Keech Hospice Care

Complementary Therapy Volunteers - Keech Hospice Care, Luton and Bedford Daycare Hospice, Bedford 

Provide a holistic approach to patients and their carers, in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team, to ensure the provision of high quality care.

 

Headway Bedford

Volunteer Translator - Punjabi

The role involves working with a client in both a group setting (translating the session material/handouts/questions into Punjabi for a client, helping them complete any worksheets, engage in discussions, etc.) where needed and in a 1:1 setting.

 

Friendship Link and Action Group 

Event Facilitator

We are looking for volunteers to work alongside our Event Coordinator, to support up to 6 bi-monthly Events and Outings per year. Examples include day-trips to the seaside, to the zoo, and other places and evening events like our Christmas meal, Quizzes and Bingo.
